ÖSD exams: levels, dates and application

ÖSD (Österreichisches Sprachdiplom Deutsch) is an international exam system that certifies German proficiency according to the Common European Framework of Reference. Here you will find our exam days and application steps.

Who is it for?

The ÖSD certificate is used in many applications that ask for proof of German.

  • Family reunification

    Applicants who need a German language certificate for family reunification.

  • Training, study and work

    Anyone applying to institutions that ask for a language certificate for Ausbildung, university or a job.

  • International certificate

    Anyone who wants an internationally recognised German certificate.

  • Levels A1 · A2 · B1 · B2

    Anyone who wants to document the level they have reached with an official exam.

The institution you apply to decides which certificate and level it accepts. Check its requirement for your case before you register.

From application to exam

  1. Application

    You choose a level and date and submit your application.

  2. Payment

    You have 5 days for a bank transfer after the payment information email is sent; cash is paid within 5 business days.

  3. Approval

    Your application is approved after our team has checked the payment.

  4. Exam day

    Approved candidates must arrive 30 minutes before the exam.

Exam dates and capacity are updated each period.

What you need

  • First name, last name, date of birth, e-mail and phone
  • Choice of level and session
  • Identity document (PDF, JPG or PNG; all application files within the displayed total limit)
  • Passport; without a passport, a population register extract (vukuatlı nüfus kayıt örneği) from e-Devlet
  • Consent to the privacy notice and choice of payment method

Payment

Bank transfer
Within 5 days of the payment information email, with the candidate's full name as reference. The receipt can be uploaded or sent by email/WhatsApp.
Cash
Paid at the designated school within 5 business days. The start of this period is confirmed when your application is acknowledged.
Approval
No application is approved automatically before a staff member has verified the payment.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a C1 exam?

C1 is not offered in our current programme. It will be announced separately if there is demand.

How do I get my result?

Candidates are informed separately about results and certificate collection after the exam.

What is Express evaluation?

Express is an optional service with an extra fee that has your exam evaluated sooner. With standard evaluation, results are announced in about 4–6 weeks; with Express evaluation in about 2 weeks. These times are estimates.
